Multicultural Magnet School (4-8)

Please read the information below before beginning the application process. These policies are effective for the Multicultural Magnet School (4-8).
Directions for completing applications:
  • An application must be submitted for each student applying.
  • You may choose to apply to ANY or all six elementary schools. If selected in the lottery for one school and you accept, you will be removed from the other lottery's wait list.
  • Bridgeport resident students not currently attending a Bridgeport Public School must submit a copy of the most recent report card if applying for Multicultural, High Horizons, Park City and Classical Studies Magnet Schools for Grades 4-8.
  • Non-Bridgeport residents can ONLY apply to Discovery Inter-District Magnet School.
  • You MUST notify us if there is a change in address or phone number.
  • If we are unable to contact you by phone, e-mail or home address, we will go to the next applicant on the waiting list.

Deadlines: The deadline for applying online is February 25, 2022 (11:59 pm).

Age Requirements: Kindergarten applicants must be 5 by January 1, 2022 in order to be eligible to apply for the 2022-2023 school year.

Eligible Residents: Students residing within the City of Bridgeport, CT are eligible to apply for a seat in the programs at Multicultural Magnet School (4-8).

Please note: The only open slots available at Classical Studies, High Horizons, Multicultural and Park City Magnet schools are Kindergarten; Grades 1-8 applications are for waiting list only.

Entrance Requirements:
To be eligible for a seat at Multicultural Magnet School (4-8) for the 2022-2023 school year, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Completed application.
  • A sibling policy has been adopted for PCM,HH, MCM & CSA., within the context of this policy, siblings are defined as children with a common parent or legal guardian
  • Acceptance into the lottery. Please note that by submitting an application, it does not guarantee acceptance into the school or program.
